THEQUADAPP.COM · MOODLE MOBILE APP
Home/About

The mobile layer your Moodle already needs.

Quad started as a 14-day project for one university in West Africa. It became a product because the same problem turned out to be everywhere — Moodle is installed, students don't have a mobile app, and existing options either cost too much or look generic.

01 · Origin

It started on a real campus.

In 2025, a university in Sierra Leone asked us a simple question: could their students have a real mobile app for their Moodle, fast enough that this year's cohort could use it? They already had Moodle running. They didn't have months to wait, budget for a generic SaaS, or appetite for an enterprise replatform.

We built it in 14 working days. The app went live. Students used it. Then we realised the same situation was true in Nigeria, in Bangladesh, in Kenya, in Vietnam — Moodle installed, no mobile app, no time. So we kept building, and Quad became a product.

02 · Beliefs

What we believe.

i. Don't replace what works. Moodle is installed for a reason. Quad sits on top, not in place. If you turn off Quad tomorrow, Moodle keeps running exactly as before.
ii. Build for the real network. The student on the bus home has 2G or nothing. Software should keep going. We treat offline as the primary case, not an edge case.
iii. Ship in weeks, not quarters. Institutions can't wait six months for a mobile app. We've made the build pipeline boring on purpose. 14 days from kick-off to live.
iv. Boring is beautiful. The product doesn't need to dazzle. It needs to load fast, not lose data, and stay out of the way. We optimise for boredom.
v. Your data, your tools. The app goes to the store under your name. The data sits where you choose. We never hold institutions hostage with switching costs.
03 · The company

A small team, a focused product.

Quad is built by a small, independent engineering team based in India. We've shipped backends, mobile apps, and admin consoles for universities, healthcare providers, and finance companies — and Quad is the productised version of the work we kept being asked to do.

We're distributed across two offices and a remote engineering team. We don't take VC money. We grow by shipping things that work, including AI-assisted features built on AWS, and getting paid for them. If that sounds boring, it's because it is — and that's by design.
